A black background is filled with five 3D ball-and-stick models of organic molecules, consisting of gray and white carbon and hydrogen atoms, and larger blue nitrogen or oxygen atoms, with smaller blue clusters floating around them.

What did the customer ask for?

During the Formnext conference in Frankfurt, an exhibition dedicated to Additive Manufacturing, Solvay presented the latest and newest innovative materials for 3D printing.

Solvay is a chemical company which also deals with 3D printing with high-definition plastic materials.

Solution

Solvay asked FifthIngenium to develop a very interactive HoloLens application, not only with the goal of displaying 3D product information, but also to entertain customers approaching the company booth.

The application indeed was a gaming experience: the resolution of a small puzzle to compose the plastic molecule in Augmented Reality.
